As the designer selected to decorate and furnish the Primary Bedroom Suite for the Philharmonic Design House in Shady Canyon, I wanted the design to remain true to the home’s Mediterranean architecture while providing a relaxing retreat for the owners. In addition to an expansive sitting area with wide open views, we created a cozy meditation space for quiet contemplation near the fireplace. The verdant green hillside and blue sky beyond influenced the earthy color palette.  The mediterranean style furnishings are juxtaposed against contemporary art, and a collection of accessories with African, European and African origins add to the collected feeling of the room.  With every sigh of “aww” coming from patrons entering the room and the lengths of time they would linger, I knew we achieved the effect we were striving for.
