emerald bay

Featured in Luxe & Country French magazines

This lovely Country French home in the beautiful beachside enclave of Emerald Bay needed a complete refresh. The original interior was overly decorative, with gold-gilded wall paneling, bold colored bedrooms, heavy satin drapery, and ornate crystal chandeliers. Our vision for this client was a light-filled, relaxed home with simplified finishes and casual furnishings.  We refinished the walls in a creamy white plaster and repainted the cabinets in soft French hues.  Our goal was to blend the formal European details with rustic comforts and create a look that feels fresher and more youthful.

“Having worked with this family for over 20 years, there’s something especially meaningful about designing a home for one of the children and discovering a new style together. I love the contrast of formal pieces—like the rock crystal chandeliers—with rustic, organic elements such as the old floors and reclaimed beams. The mix of old and new, vintage and modern, runs throughout the home and suits her perfectly.”
