What started out as the mere thought of finding a larger home to welcome family and friends, evolved into this beautifully constructed 15,000-square-foot estate surrounded by 22 acres of oak trees and grape vines overlooking Folsom Lake.  The home’s French country style was inspired by its location, as well as the client’s love of European travel, French wine, and old-world architecture with colorful interiors.  To create an aesthetic steeped in history and authenticity, the design team carefully sourced materials that were either vintage or made to look old: distressed limestone floors, reclaimed oak beams, antique terra cotta roof tiles, and hand-glazed milk paint used throughout. The clients couldn’t be happier with the resulting warm and inviting interior, but the true warmth starts at the door with the enthusiastic greeting one receives from the two most lovely residents.

“Before this project began, our longtime clients asked me and my team to walk through a house they planned to buy and remodel. That evening, I told them they shouldn’t buy it—they’d worked too hard to settle. The next morning, after a call to their realtor, we were walking the 22-acre property where their magnificent new home now stands.”
