Shady Canyon
Irvine

This charming French-inspired home, situated among boulder outcroppings on a rural California hillside, is truly special. It was designed and built in close collaboration with an open-minded client, an amazing architect, a team of experienced craftsmen, and super talented artisans, all with a singular focus… to create a home that looked and felt as if it was plucked from the French countryside. There are many stories of how we imbued this home with authenticity and age, from the gesso we added to painted finishes to the detailed instruction given to the stonemasons, each of us researching, collaborating, and experimenting for the most appropriate details. Furnishings were purchased and designed to embellish the European aesthetic and antiques were collected during the construction phase with origins in France, Belgium, Sweden, and Denmark. The end result suited the client’s vision perfectly… a home of European influence, warm in color and rich in texture, to nurture the creative souls of her young family.
