With spectacular skyline views, this 7,800 sq ft penthouse is located in the iconic and recently remodeled Walker Tower building in the art district of Chelsea New York. Starting with beautiful bare bones, we added architectural details and textured wall coverings throughout; designed new millwork, custom cabinetry and fireplace surrounds; and selected custom light fixtures for every room. The handcrafted bronze fretwork on the fireplace was inspired by the decorative metal details found on the building’s facade. To make the expansive spaces feel warm and inviting, we accessorized them with vintage African artifacts, hand-thrown pottery, and wood sculpture. It was especially important to not only marry the interior design to the historic architecture, but also make the penthouse feel like a home. One perfectly tailored for this client’s aesthetic.
